7Ovr uses PostHog, hosted in the EU, to count page views, block interactions, registry requests, and errors. An event can include which item was requested, the referring page, the approximate country, the browser and device, and the details of any error.

Registry requests are given a pseudonymous ID derived from the request itself. Where configured, this includes the IP address passed through a hash with a secret salt, rather than the address itself.

The purpose is to improve the site and keep it secure, on the basis of legitimate interest. This data is not sold and is not used for advertising. Analytics sets no tracking cookies. The browser does store practical settings such as the theme and the selected package manager, and some block previews use their own cookies or local storage.

Polar handles the payment and keeps the customer records, under its Privacy Policy⁠ (opens in a new tab). 7Ovr never sees card details.

To understand how people find and buy Pro, PostHog receives the plan, price, currency, checkout and order IDs, and the source of the visit where available. An anonymous browser ID connects these steps. Email addresses, billing details, payment details, and license keys are never sent to PostHog. Orders can be looked up in Polar in order to provide support.

A license key is sent to the 7Ovr server and on to Polar to be checked. The answer is cached briefly, and the IP address is used briefly for rate limiting. Keys are never sent to analytics. Emails are read in order to reply to them.

Checking licenses and supporting purchases is processing needed to deliver what was paid for. Providing details for support is optional, but without order details support may not be possible.

Vercel hosts the site. PostHog runs the analytics, in the EU. Polar handles payments and keeps its own customer records. Some technical data may be handled outside the EEA, under the safeguards the EU requires.

Analytics data is deleted on a schedule. Purchase and support records are kept while they are needed: to answer your request, to run your license, and for accounting. Validation and rate-limit records sit in server memory for about a minute and are not stored.

You can request a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, deleted, or restricted, ask for it to be transferred elsewhere, and object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interest. Email 7Ovr at hello@7ovr.com and the request will be handled.

Complaints can be made to a data protection authority. If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date.
